HEARTFELT POSTS: Make your post heartfelt and personal! Add your own experience, gif, or photo to the comments, too.
INVITE ALL MEMBERS TO COMMENT: These are BATTALION WIDE posts; don't make your post specific to a company. Ask the "seasoned" members to share their recent experiences with the "newbies".
ABOUT THIS BWP: This is a post the members love and requires a great VCM each week! You can copy and paste the text below. It includes some hints to members to keep OPSEC and PERSEC with them throughout their Marine's career in the Corps; subtle yet vital!

See below for a suggested post and RTU for Quarantine and Pre-Ship weeks. Add some personal experience or some creativity to make this fun!

You are encouraged to include the Sandboxx Q&A as a comment to the post. You'll find it in CACC under Policies, or click here.

The "Mail Carrier" Stalking paragraph and image works really well as a comment to the original post.

MAIL CALL! Incoming and outgoing, let's count those letters!

Mail call is an exciting time for your recruits and I know it's exciting for you as well. We'll do our weekly Friday MAIL CALL for all the companies in this battalion.

Use this post if you SENT mail to your recruit or if you RECEIVED mail from your recruit! While sharing, please remember that not everyone will send or receive as many letters as the next person. Be respectful and understanding.

Remember OPSEC and PERSEC when posting about letters from your loved-one in the military (during boot camp or any other time). Some examples of OPSEC and PERSEC with mail include:

  1. No information about recruits or Marines who aren't yours.
PERSEC: Personal information is not yours to share.
OPSEC: Marine Corps business is not yours to share.
  2. Keep your posts positive; don't bring unwanted worry to others.
OPSEC: Marine Corps business is not yours to share.
  3. Your letter was written for YOU. Keep the trust between you and your recruit.
PERSEC: Personal information is not yours to share.

3, 2, 1: Let the sharing begin! Ooh Rah recruit and Marine family members!

Semper Toons Stalking the Mail Carrier

RTU & VCM IMAGES: You need to create a VCM for your post. There is an entire section on "Mail Call" in the MP Meme Generator (see also the "Semper Gumby" folder).

  REMINDER:
Upload your VCMs to your VO Photo Album in your MP Team Group before using it in your post. Click the folder to open the MP Meme Generator.

MEMBER INTERACTION: Add your VO signature; tag yourself so the members "see" who you are. Be sure to go back in after you make the post so you can talk with the members. They want to hear from YOU.

Important Note to ALL Volunteers: New ideas for a BWP are welcome but require approval FIRST. Seek advise from your coach on new ideas. Your coach will consult with the RTBN Manager. Creating or "piloting" a new post idea is never permitted without explicit permission from the RTBN Manager.
